Hey friends, how were your weekends?
Mine started out with some fun eating and shopping on Friday afternoon with Maia of Conundrum and Erin of Apartment34. This time, we ventured out of San Fran a bit and met up with Maia who lives in downtown Oakland. She was showing us around all the new shops that has been popping up in the Old Oakland (aka PopUpHood). I was pretty stoked and surprised – mainly because I lived in the East Bay a few years ago and these were never here! So, I was a little blown away with how much it has changed. And ironically, Maia, who is a recent Wisconsin transplant, is the one showing us around!
While the PopUpHood is a pilot venture in this area (most shops here are under 1 year old), the owners said their shops are here to stay. I highly recommend spending an afternoon shopping, eating, and strolling around this part of the town. It’s truly delightful and lots of shopping for sweet things. I can assure you some damage will be done on your wallet – or pretty much drool from window shopping. :)
