Hey there, happy Monday! As you know, last week I spent most of my time in NYC. It was a short trip and the main reason I was there was to attend an exclusive Target press event for make-up artist Sonia Kashuk‘s new ‘bath and body line’ launching this fall. The event was held at a luxury bathhouse, and the guests who attended all had a chance to get pampered with one-of-a-kind thermal baths and massages. Needless to say, we all got to try out the new products in person as well as meeting the talented make-up artist herself. Even though I cannot share with you the new products just yet (it launches in November), I can tell you that her new line is luxurious and amazing and the prices are unbeatable! Just exactly what you would expect from Target! I have a feeling it’s going to do really well in the store, especially with the holidays coming up! Here’s more info about it on WWD. | Bathing suit via Target, top and bottom for $36!
It was such a treat to spend an afternoon here! It definitely felt like I enjoyed a bit of ancient Rome with state-of-the-art pools. I mean, we’re talking about classical music playing under the pool! And the exposed bricks were original from the building in 1883, so cool!
Thankfully, I was able to squeeze in some time to explore Tribeca/Soho and meet up with a few friends nearby. I love checking out stores we don’t have in SF, and of course, dining out at new places. Anyway, this is kind of random, but I love hotel design and I always like to find interior inspirations from them. I’m loving how this floor lamp is placed over the bed at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. I usually see this type of lamp placed by sofas but I think this idea is kind of neat. I may just have to copy.
Opening Ceremony may just be my favorite store to visit every time I am in NYC.
Picked up a few colorful souvenirs at Topshop. (I got the sparkly one for Hayden!)
So nice to meet up with Jessie of Style & Pepper for a fun coffee date. I met her two years ago at Alt Summit and it’s so wonderful that I was able to connect with her again in NYC! She’s super smart and stylish!
Tina from Life in Sketch suggested that we do dinner here at Smith and Mills out in Tribeca. I couldn’t thank her enough for taking me out to this spot! Don’t you think the industrial x glamour interiors is so cool?! The food and drinks were also delicious! If this was in SF, I would go back again and again!
It was so good to meet up with Alberto for dinner in NYC as well. He’s an interior designer and so it was nice to get some suggestions from him on where to shop for home goods. Let’s just say that going to Michele Varian in Soho did not disappoint.
And that was it, my flight home with Virgin! I can’t believe that was already last week. I’m actually going back again in late August for another fun campaign. I can’t exactly spill the beans yet but all I can tell you is that it involves a photo shoot! And the next time around, I’m bringing George with me and we’re going to spend two extra days there to explore. He hasn’t been back to NYC since he was 6, so in theory, he hasn’t been to NYC. I’m super excited to go back with him :) I think for next time, we’re gonna try to spend some time in Brooklyn too. Any places I must try in Brooklyn??
I hope you enjoy my little NYC recap! I’ll be on the blog more this week, so I’ll see you back here soon! :) xo Jeanne
