I never thought I would get into meditation. I always thought that’s just something monks do, you know? But lately, I feel like I’m juggling a lot and my mind is just being pulled in all different directions. I’m not saying I’m at a bad place (we all have multiple roles in our lives), but I just wanted to find a peace of mind in order to focus and accomplish what I want to do.

George, my husband, recently introduced me to this pretty cool app, called Headspace. It’s a meditation app that helps you learn how to meditate, when you want, wherever you are, in just 10 minutes a day. I’ve also been hearing a lot of good things about meditation so I decided to give it a try. I’ve only started it for a week but I feel really good about it already. It’s like getting a mental massage for my mind. Some of it is just simple exercises like counting 1 to 10 with a clear head, but it totally surprised me how challenging that was without getting distracted with my own thoughts.

Anyway, this is what I’ve been doing lately and just thought I’d share in case you’re looking for a peace of mind too. I’m really looking forward to develop my meditation skill and use it to my advantage.
