I can’t believe it’s already been a few weeks since we kicked-off our inaugural event for Lovemade. Janette and I hosted a one-day lifestyle workshop for new pregnant moms, helping them define a sense of intention about their home & nursery design, fashion, and support networks for parents as they bring a little one into the world. The first half of the day was all about learning and intimate discussions, and the second half was treating our participants to mocktails, makeovers, a bump photo session, and gift bags filled with amazing goodies for moms and babies! We had an incredible day and a very positive response from everyone who attended. It was truly our pleasure to make all of our mamas feel special and gorgeous! Needless to say, our hearts were full.
We were grateful to have held our first event in the beautiful office of Catherine Kwong Design. Everyone who walked through this space felt nothing but impressed. We were also very lucky to have had Sarah Hebenstreit of Modern Kids, a talented family photographer, to help us capture the day and maternity shoots for our guests. Both Catherine and Sarah are expecting mamas! Congrats and thank you so much to both!
Our logo on fine birch wood gifted by our friends at Classic Wood Prints. We look forward to using this sign at all of our events!
A delicious breakfast spread from b. Patisserie sponsored by Homepolish. All of our attendees also received a free in-home consultation on interior design for their home & nursery.
A pretty display of Minted artworks curated by Janette and I. All attendees picked a favorite to take home to put in their nursery.
Can’t forget the notepads! Pens and notebooks by Poppin.

Pregnancy essentials provided by local maternity boutique, Mom’s the Word.
All set up and ready to roll!
Honored to have pampered 15 glowing mamas!
Beautiful calligraphy name tags (with due dates!) done by our talented friend who also did our amazing Lovemade logo.
A layout of the goodies from our gift bags! We are beyond grateful for our sponsors’ support. Shown here are products from Pottery Barn Kids, The Honest Company, Freshly Picked, Hatch Collection, Munchkin, Good On Paper, Nine Naturals, Little Sevi, Coatt.
Each mom picked a coveted pair of Freshly Picked mocs for their baby. Yes, we gave them some really tough choices! Which pair would you pick?
A delicious lunch provided by Munchery, a great service for new moms where they offer wholesome prepared meals, handmade by top local chefs using only the best ingredients, for same-day delivery to homes. We all had a nicely prepped autumn vegetable salad with chicken and a pear tart for dessert, served with refreshing watermelon + peach water.
One of our favorite parts of this workshop was listening to the candid pregnancy and early motherhood stories from our 3 panelists – Katie Hintz-Zambrano of Mother Magazine, Erica Chan-Coffman of HonestlyWTF/HonestlyYUM, and Liz Stanley of Say Yes. We all dressed in our favorite piece from Hatch! Note that none of us are pregnant here and these ready-to-wear maternity pieces still look great!
I had the honor to moderate this panel and got to ask our panelists anywhere from birth stories to breastfeeding to weight gain to marriage to career – anything that would help our new moms prep a smooth transition in this stage of life. This session really felt like a heart-to-heart talk with your girlfriends, and quiet honestly, it could’ve went on for hours.
Mocktail hours hosted by Good Eggs! Also another great service for new moms; they deliver fresh food and produce to your door steps. Perfect for new moms who may not be able to make it out the door for groceries during those first few months. Also great for busy parents too – I love stocking up fresh farm eggs, milk and all the necessary staples for my family.
Thanks so much to Kacie, marketing from Good Eggs and also mama of 2, for serving a refreshing muddled grape & lemon verbena spritzer to our guests!
We couldn’t resist serving our mocktails in these beautiful goblets from Frances lane. If you’re ever looking for pretty and unique party rentals, bookmark them for your next event! I assure you won’t disappoint.
A beautiful set-up and ‘makeunder’ by bareMinerals. we had 3 experienced artists on hand to help our mamas with their makeup and giving them easy beauty lessons that suit their skin type and lifestyle. Everyone turned out looking radiant and beautiful and ready for their maternity shoot! Thank you so much for this amazing experience, bareMinerals!
Everyone looked SO good and happy in their photos! I had the hardest time picking just a few!
Janette and I couldn’t be happier with how the whole event turned out! We did put a lot of thoughts into this and were so glad everything carried out the way it suppose to be. We also wanted to send a huge thanks to Collectively for helping us with some great partnerships and giving us advice from start to finish. Also to our media partners including 100 Layer Cakelet, Red Tricycle, Say Yes, Sacramento Street, The Moms Project, and SF Gate Chronicle.
A video by Ryan J. Devisser is also on its way. We’ll be sharing that in a few weeks.
Many thanks to everyone here who supported me and helped me spread the word since the day I launched Lovemade. It meant a lot to me. This is only the beginning and I’m really looking forward to see how this adventure grows from here. We have lots of new ideas and events for the future (from DIY craft nights to cooking classes!). We already have one planning for the holidays in December for the whole family to enjoy, so be sure to sign up for Lovemade’s newsletter to stay up-to-date.
Hope you enjoy this super long post, and have the most amazing weekend, everyone!
