As cumbersome as it may be with two young children these days (and it is!), it hasn’t stopped me from checking out some new spots in the city…
Like The Mill, which is a new coffee house (a joint venture between Josey Baker Bread and Four Barrel Coffee) that just opened up last month in Alamo Square. I thought I would beat the crowd by going there on a Sunday morning… thinking most people would either wake up late for brunch or having a hang over… but this place was packed and the line was out the door – at 10am! Luckily, we got a table and enjoyed our brekkie at this new dig.
I absolutely love this new space! The interior architecture is quite handsome, with lots of white and wood and natural lighting. So beautiful and such a great mix of modern and rustic. I can totally see myself hanging out here for hours (sans the kiddos) for a piece of their thick fluffy toast and a cup of latte!
It wasn’t easy getting out of the house that morning. It literally took us a good 2 hours to get ourselves and the little ones ready (yup, this is pretty much my life now.) But, in the end, I enjoy taking them out to new places so I make the effort. I mean, what else are we gonna do? Hang out at the park and build sand castles? Ok, that comes later after mommy and daddy have their coffee first . :)
Be sure to check out The Mill if you haven’t, would love to know what you think!
