You probably saw me instagram’d a few pics of this awesome event I attended at the Grand Hyatt SF last week. If you check out the hashtag #LivingGrand on Instagram, you can see that Grand Hyatt has been hosting a series of exclusive dinners for local media and press around the globe celebrating one of my favorite holidays, Lunar New Year!
I was incredibly honored to attend and that I was able to make a date night out of it with George, which made it even more fun! Grand Hyatt really outdid themselves on making an impression. From the warm hospitality to the festive menu and grand decor, the evening was flawless! I had the most fun celebrating the evening with blogging friends and also meeting new ones. It was an evening full of good food, good company, and good ‘new year’ vibe!
Here are some highlights from the evening…
Greeted at the lobby by a stunning presentation of dim sum by their top chefs!
After the live performance of lion dance at the lobby, we were brought to an even more stunning room for dinner, with a lantern-lit backdrop and the most beautiful table setting by Brown Paper Design.
One of my favorite highlights from the evening is that my good friend, Jon Lo of Happy Mundane, flew in from LA and also attended the event. It was so awesome to catch up with him. He is seriously one of my favorite people! By the way, don’t be fooled by our serious convo here… we were really just discussing the best Instagram filters to use. But I suppose that’s a very important topic among bloggers, lol!
Group pic with another dear friend, Maia (also Art Director of Rue Magazine), and Jon.
The evening got only better and better. After dinner, we were escorted to the Presidential Suite for beautiful dessert and tea, fortune telling, and more mingling with friends with a great city view!
Here’s George getting his fortune read. Believe it or not, it’s our first time doing this!
My fortune teller told me that if I plan all my seeds now in the winter, everything will blossom in the spring and I will have a very successful year! I’m really looking forward to that!
Thank you so much to Grand Hyatt for the splendid evening! Big cheers to the Year of the Ram!
