What To Wear: SF Giants Fashion

It’s baseball season and if you’re anything like me suddenly channels 2 and 40 have become very popular in your home. I myself am not crazy about watching baseball on TV (my other half is), but going to a Giants game at AT&T Park is always a good time. I prefer to show my team spirit in a more subtle way than a Giants jersey or hat – hey, a girl can still show off her fashion sense even amidst peanuts and beer! So here are my top picks on what to wear to a Giants game. As we native San Franciscans know, weather around here can be hit or miss, so my combinations will take care of you in the different weather situations you might encounter.

HOT IN THE CITY

Inspired by the weather as of late – could it be more gorgeous out?! This first outfit is what to wear on that ideal, fogless day. For me 70 degrees and over translates to – which sundress do I feel like putting on? I love both the James Perse and C&C California takes on the stripe trend – casual and fun. Love keeping it simple with this light wash, cropped, denim jacket from Club Monaco when it cools a bit in the evening. Slip on these patent leather J.Crew sandals in tangier orange so everyone knows you’re rooting for the home team!

A FOGGY SF NIGHT

When the weather is 60-70 degrees during the day and that ocean fog starts rolling in, we know it will cool down considerably in those later innings of the game. I have really started to love mixing patterns and this “Starry Night” Equipment blouse with these tie-dye J Brand skinnies is just the ticket. The muted orange in the denim keeps the outfit from looking too Halloween-ish. Keep warm with this Helmut Lang jacket and bring in these B Brian Atwood flats and Lizzie Fortunato clutch for that city-chic look.

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

So as Mark Twain said, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.”  We all know how chilly it can get in that ballpark even in the middle of June. So for those particularly cold nights, this Enza Costa crew-neck, cashmere-blend shirt (with these amazing built-in mittens) will keep you cozy, especially when layered under a Patagonia puffer jacket. Ensure you keep the Giants spirit going with these Rag & Bone jeans with a tuxedo stripe in orange! These Pour La Victoire high tops will keep your feet nice and toasty!  And of course top off the look with an orange scarf (found on Etsy as this time of year it’s tough to find knit scarves at most stores).

And if it’s raining – well my recommendation is turn on the game, order in some take-out and share a few drinks with friends in the comfort of your own home! Go Giants! – Katie
