Hey there, friends! Sorry I’ve been a little out of touch here lately. Truth be told, I’m trying to spend less time on my laptop and more time outside exploring. So, if you’re following me on IG or Snapchat: shopsweetthings, you probably know that I haven’t fell off the face of the earth. I even gave a little Isabel Marant shop tour on my snap story, so if you’re looking for instant discoveries, follow me there.
Anyway, I finally got to check out the new Isabel Marant shop last week that is now opened in Jackson Square, San Francisco. It’s one of my favorite historic neighborhoods in the city. Really charming and it almost reminds me of Soho or Tribecca in NYC, but not quite as big in scale. Some of my favorite eats are also located there too!
The Isabel Marant space is located on the street level of the Hotaling Building, which was built in 1866 and was once known as the largest whiskey repository in the West Coast. It turned into a decorative and design firm space in the 1950s. And guess what, I used to work two blocks from there back in 2005. Some pretty cool history, right?! :)
I think it’s quite amazing that Isabel Marant has now taken over the space. This store is a minimalist’s dream! White brick walls, tall ceiling, large sectional wooden panels, and fluorescent lighting throughout. While I can’t say I’m a die-hard minimalist, I do appreciate design and fashion that are simple, modern and beautifully made. Their ready-to-wear collection is tailored, understated and has an urban edge, which is a style I can definitely live with everyday.
The store is still in its’ soft-opening phase but will be rolling out more pieces in the coming weeks for fall/winter – you know we all love that! Go check it out when you get a chance. And if you need some recs on some good eats, coffee shops and stores nearby, let me know!
