Happy Monday, all! How was your weekend? For me, it always seems to go by way too fast.
Though today, it’s actually a holiday for me as the Chinese culture celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival, or as most of you might heard, the mooncake festival. It is a date that parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and roundest out of the whole year. As a kid growing up in Hong Kong, I had always remember having a festive dinner with the family, playing with lanterns and enjoying mooncakes as we gazed out to adore the full moon.
Tonight, it will be no different. I will be enjoying a traditional Chinese dinner with my family and show baby H the first time a beautiful lantern. I think it’s kinda nice that my parents still have us celebrate these holidays so that I am able to pass along these traditions to my daughter. How about you? Do you have any cultural traditions you share with your family? I’d love to hear about it.
Well, I hope you enjoy my $20 Monday this week. I’ll be back tomorrow with lots of pictures from last week’s Fashion’s Night Out! Have a Happy Mooncake Day!
