Happy day, everyone! This week went by super quick for me, although I still feel like Friday should’ve happened two days ago! Must have been all the Halloween festivities and the Giants championship celebration here. Anyways, today I wanted to share Part 2 of my 48-hour NYC trip (see Part 1 here). I can’t believe it’s already been two weeks, and sadly, storm Sandy took over. On the bright side, I think many people are safe for the most part and ultimately, that’s what’s most important. I hope the city will be able to clean up the damage soon enough and return back to normalcy.
But back to some fun stuff. Ever since I started blogging about 1.5 years ago, many of you have asked me where I find my products? To be honest, a lot of it is Internet research, magazines, attending events, and just plain out shopping. But the other part of it, quite important actually, is connecting with the right PR agencies. When you find ones that represent brands that suit your aesthetic and audience, they can be very helpful to you and your blog.
I was very lucky to get acquainted with a local boutique PR agency Moderne Press in my early blogging days. Connie Wong, founder of the agency, reached out to me. We grabbed coffee and chatted away. Since then we kept in touch and Connie and her partner, Jamie Werner, has been keeping me in the loop with brands and products that I would potentially want to work with. This is so great because they introduce me to brands that I would not have discovered otherwise on my own.
So on my recent NYC trip, they happened to be holding a press preview for their wonderful clients in the beautiful London Hotel and they were so kind to have extended an invitation to me. I was so happy that I was able to catch them on this trip and even more delighted to check out the beautiful products in person. I’ve already seen a lot of them online, but there’s just something about seeing and touching the pieces in person that makes you go – wow!! Call me old-school, but that’s still my preferred way to shop.
It was so much fun to see Connie, Jamie, and the clients they represent in such a beautiful setting. Many many thanks again to Moderne Press for having me there! Totally made my 48-hour trip worth while!
