6 Family Must-Do’s For Spring (When It Comes To Shopping)

My year started out incredibly busy this year, and I finally feel like I’m able to come up for air. I couldn’t be more excited for our spring break coming up in about two weeks. We’ll be going to our first glamping trip! :)

To get ready for the new season, I took my girls, Hayden and Hadley, to one of our favorite stomping grounds, Stanford Shopping Center, in Palo Alto for some shopping. It’s literally a one-stop shop for me, except fancier. :) We dined, we shopped, and we took Easter bunny photos!

I usually like to share snippets of my shopping on Instagram (often calling ourselves mall rats lol), so this time, I partnered with Simon to share what my day looks like when shopping with my girls. Check out my  “must-dos” for spring at our favorite mall! I even made a video at the end :)

We stopped by at Gymboree to pick up some new spring pieces for the girls. Since we scheduled our Easter Bunny Photo in advance to skip the line, I thought it would be fun for Hayden and Hadley to pick out their own outfits for their pictures.

Have you been in Gymboree lately? They came out with so many fun pieces and cute accessories that are perfect for everyday wear. And if your girl is looking for a dress for Easter Sunday, here are some cute and adorable options! From floral prints and eyelet ruffles to classic stripes and polka dots, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to find something that will suit her mood.

My little Hadley, who just turned 5 recently, is in love with all things rainbow and iridescent! Her picks were: iridescent sneakers, rainbow jacket, rainbow necklace, popsicle crossbody bag, and this sweet ring set.

Believe it or not, this is our first time taking a photo with the bunny! I sense a new family tradition starting. Hayden, who is 7 and loves blue, opted for a striped bow dress, rainbow crossbody bag, petal pink marled cardigan, sparkle star sneakers, and these cute weekday bobby pin set for the photo! Sadly, Hadley is still getting over the fear of taking pictures with characters so we will just have to try again next year. At least she got to wave to the bunny from afar, and the bunny waved back, so that made her day.

What I love about Stanford Shopping Center is that they have some great restaurants to choose from. But I have to let you in on a secret, Nordstrom Cafe is our family’s default. So after the photo, we went to Nordstrom for a relaxed and scrumptious lunch.

The menu at Nordstrom has improved SO MUCH over the years. I still remember going there ten years ago and they were only serving hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. And now, most of their cafes have turned into full-on restaurants serving delectable appetizers, entrees and desserts! We grubbed on dishes like roasted brussel sprouts, Korean BBQ short ribs, penne pasta with burrata and housemade chicken sausage, classic clam chowder and crab tomato bisque, and hello, wine of course!

And for the girls, they always love getting the chicken fingers with a side of crayons and cross-word puzzles.

We didn’t have any room for dessert, but we sure have room for these Sugarfina bunny candy!

After lunch, it’s time for some serious shopping. And I mean seriooouuus. I made a MAJOR purchase at Nordstrom and bought a Dyson Supersonic. I never thought I would splurge on something like this, but after a few days of using it now, I am convinced and am never going back! Everyone can use a good hair day (like everyday), and this hair blowdryer does not disappoint. I promise it’s a good investment and you can justify the purchase by saying it’s for the whole family. :)

After Nordstrom, I ventured out to other shops and stopped by at Kiehl’s. This is my husband’s favorite brand, he uses their facial cleanser religiously. I’m telling ya, guys can get pretty loyal when it comes to brands. Once you get them to stick to one, they will never switch. I’ve never tried any of Kiehl’s products before, but my husband got me curious so I’m excited to try some of their best sellers for the spring. They also introduced me to their new face mask line that sounds quite exhilarating.

When it comes to shopping for myself, I always like to find something unexpected. It’s so easy to stick with buying what I know it’s safe and looks good. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I also think it’s important that, as with everything else in life, try to go out of your comfort zone once in a while.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m always surprised by the shops I discover at Stanford. This time, I discovered a new-to-me shop called Uno de 50. It is a handcrafted luxury jewelry and accessories brand based out of Madrid, Spain.

My eyes instantly drew to their gold plated nail choker! I love the edginess yet luxury of this piece.

I made my last stop at Luisa Spagnoli because I know I can always find some unexpected pieces in there. With the arrival of spring, I am most definitely craving for fresh and bright colors. Can we all agree this yellow silk organza dress needs to be in my closet? 😍

Last but not least, who can say no to these pink cat eye sunnies! They literally flatter any face shape. (pssst, they’re on sale too!)

As promised, here’s a recap of my day in motion. :) Hope you enjoyed following along and got to put some of my must-dos (and must-haves) on your shopping checklist. Happy spring, everyone!
