This weekend is my daughter’s first birthday party – yay, I made it through the first year!! We have about 100 people coming. So to me, that’s a lot – which also means I have to stay on a budget.
I don’t remember the last time I had to walk into Party City (maybe it was Halloween and I was 21?) Anyways, have you been there? It’s like walking into a big warehouse full of (tacky) party supplies. It was daunting! I had no idea where to begin. Then I saw this little corner waaay in the back with a sign that said “SALE”, and yup, that’s exactly where I headed.
To my surprise, I found these super cute gingham napkins and paper plates that were slashed 50% off from the July 4th holiday! It was like hitting the jackpot! I was so happy when I found them, and that I didn’t have to get anything with ‘Disney princess’ or ‘Dora the Explorer’ on it. (I hope my daughter doesn’t request that later on, yeeks!)
Anyways, I decided to throw in the Hello Kitty for her. After all, it is a kids party and Hello Kitty is pretty darn cute! I also ordered this set of acrylic knife and tart server I featured from my $20 Monday. I totally adore it and am so happy that I can still keep it around the house after the party.
I have a feeling I’ll be making an annual trip to Party City from now on. But please, if you know anywhere I can shop for party supplies (for cheap), let me know. I think I need to start a kid’s party resource list. :)
