Hi everyone! How was your Christmas? Did you have a nice break? Or maybe still on it? I had a really nice time with my family last week. I thought I was able to log on here to check in, but the truth is, it FEELS SOOOOOO good to stay off of my computer! So, I apologize I took a small unannounced break, but I figured most of you were probably doing the same. Or at least, I hope you were!
As the new year approaches, I have something exciting to announce… Shop Sweet Things is getting a new space! Eeeeks!!! I’m moving right into the interior design firm of Catherine Kwong Design and sharing part of the office with her. (You may remember Catherine when I featured her beautiful blogger office. It was my favorite room in SF Decorator Showcase!) I love Catherine’s aesthetic – sophisticated, glamorous and impeccable. I’m quite lucky to have this opportunity to work in her office and alongside with this talent I admire so much.
I still can’t tell you how exciting I am to be getting my own workspace! The picture above is a snap I took inside of the office. I’m sure I’ll be sharing more in the days to come. I think I’ve outgrown my kitchen table “as my office” the past year and I think it’s time I find a space where I can be more productive. Having two kids in an 850 sq. ft. home has now made it impossible to get any work done. I’m also feeling guilty that my laptops, notebooks and packages are constantly all over the dining area. I want us to have a proper area to eat and I don’t want to always think about work when I’m home, so I’m hoping this new work space will be the right move for me.
It is exciting and scary at the same time, because now I of course have extra expenses. But this year, I’m feeling quite ambitious. I have several projects and new ideas I want to carry out. I don’t know if I will succeed or fail, but I’m willing to experiment! And hope I will get your support either way.
2013 was a year where I focused on adapting to be a mother of two, so there were things I was afraid to commit. In 2014, I’m anticipating my routine to be more stable so I’m excited to carry out some of the ideas I’ve been jotting down on my notebook. I’ll be staying light on my blog this week too because well, one, it’s still the holidays, so I still want to spend as much time as I can with my family… and, two, I’ll be spending some time on planning and organizing for 2014.
As always, thank you so much for all of your support. It feels so rewarding to watch SST grow and I couldn’t have done it without you being here with me. I love connecting and sharing with you all and I have a feeling this will be a good year! Enjoy the last two days of 2013, friends!!! Hope the past year treated you well. Have fun celebrating and I’ll see you back here in 2014! Until then, I’ll be here. xo Jeanne
