Have you ever tasted a food or flavor and it instantly brings you back memories?

Today, I’m partnering with Coffee-mate to talk about my love affair with chocolate chip cookies. If you’re visiting for the first time, this is a serious topic on my blog, ok! :) They’re delicious and irresistible, but really, it’s more than that for me. You see, I’ve never had a chocolate chip cookie in my life until I was 10.

Say WHAT?? :)

My family moved to S.F. from Hong Kong back in 1988, and it was then that I was introduced to all kinds of American food and culture. I remember having my very first chocolate chip cookie at a party, and then it quickly became a pantry staple in my house.

My mom would keep a jar of chocolate chip cookies for my sister and I for after-school, and I remember nibbling on them in front of the TV watching Full House or Saved By The Bell. Omg, those were the days, right?!! LOL. Thinking back, this probably explains why chocolate chip cookies bring so much comfort for me.

Today, chocolate chip cookie is an indulgent. As much as I love keeping a jar around, I simply can’t because I have no self-control when it comes to sweet! What I do love and indulge on everyday now is my cup of coffee. So when Coffee-mate introduced me to their delicious flavors like Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookie, Caramel Macchiato and Classic Vanilla, I was all over it!

I don’t buy creamer often. I usually just stick with milk. But when I tried the Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookie flavored creamer, I was utterly surprised how perfect it went together with my coffee. I only need to add a small teaspoon and it gives me this bittersweet taste I love so much! I don’t even need sugar anymore. This flavor not only evokes that nostalgic, throwback memories for me, but it took my premium coffee to another level – which I didn’t think it was possible!

Now, a bottle of Coffee-mate can last you a while if you only use it for coffee. That’s one big reason why I don’t buy creamer because it usually expires before I can finish it. But because of the flavored creamers from Coffee-mate, I came up with 2 simple ways you can add to your everyday recipe. Enjoy! :)

1. Add Chocolate Chip Cookie Flavored Creamer to Plain Yogurt.

This tip is pretty straight-forward. We love yogurt in this household and one way to jazz it up is to simply add an exciting flavor to plain yogurt. Unlike flavored yogurt in the market, you can control the amount of sweetness with this tip. If you like mixing flavors, try vanilla bean yogurt with chocolate chip cookie flavor. You’ll be surprised how gourmet this will taste!

This is also a great idea if you’re hosting a breakfast party and guests can add their own flavors and fruits to their yogurts too. Fancy, right?!

2. Add Chocolate Chip Cookie Flavored Creamer to Your Crepes (or pancakes, or waffles, or french toasts).

Another tip is to add Coffee-mate to the breakfast you make from scratch. My husband loves to make crepes for the family on the weekends. In fact, crepes brings him back nostalgic memories because that’s what his dad used to make for him as a kid. So this recipe is simply a mix of my childhood memories and his, and it is super easy to make!

Ingredients (makes 8-10 crepes): 1 cup of flour | 1/2 cup of Coffee-mate Chocolate Chip Cookie Flavored Creamer | 1.5 cups of milk | 1 tablespoon of butter.

Directions: Heat up a small non-stick pan and add butter to coat. Pour 1-ounce of batter into the center of the pan and spread thinly and evenly. Cook for 30 seconds or until it turns brown and then flip. Cook for another 10 seconds and remove to a plate or cutting board. Lay them out flat to cool. Continue until all the batter is gone.

After they have cooled you can stack them. Good thing about this recipe is that you can store in sealable plastic bags in the refrigerator for several days or in the freezer for up to two months!

Did you enjoy these two simple recipe tips? I hope you’ll give these new Coffee-mate flavored creamers a try! I’d love to hear what you think, or better yet, swap some recipes with me. Thanks so much for reading!
