SF Best Kept Secret 03 // Spruce

Hello all, I’m sharing with you and ShopStyle my 3rd and final best-kept secret spots in SF today… and that is Spruce! I know Spruce isn’t a big secret to many San Franners here. They are a well-respected fine restaurant in the city and have been on the block for a while. In fact, they’re located on Sacramento street with several other best-kept shops in the city. However, my little secret with Spruce is dining at their bar! I think there’s just something romantic about eating a classic American hamburger and sipping on a dirty martini at a swanky bar. If you can sneak out for a nice lunch you can almost always guarantee a seat here. I love the sophisticated and modern decor here and I think it’s always quite a treat to come here with friends or a date. Especially when your date is the ‘hard-to-please’ kind… in my case, it’s my 3 year old!

One way to Hayden’s heart these days? French fries, ketchup, and a glass of juice mixed with spicy water (aka sparkling water)!

With so many specialty burgers out there these days, I still prefer mine to be classic and simple… with medium rare done right! Spruce never disappoints!

The prettiest creamy cauliflower soup with lardo cracker, fennel pollen creme fraiche. Almost too pretty to eat!

Fresh and simple young lettuces with goat cheese, sesame and shallot vinaigrette.

If you think cocktails only happen after 5pm, you need to rethink again. :)

What I Wore: Zara Denim Patchwork Top – past season, but i dig this style in a wear them all the time! | Fleabagsthis canvas bag is one of my faves, so roomy, durable and the style is timeless! | Rebecca Minkoff Black Suede Pumps – mine are past season, but here’s a similar one. | Vintage chain necklace c/o Sweet & Sparksimilar, similar | Kate Spade White Enamel Bracelet – past season, but I do like this quirky one, kinda fun!

What Hayden Wore: Steven Alan Weekender Dress, in-store only but here’s a mini chambray dress with a bow I’d love to get Hayden! | Zara Kids Oxfords – hers are past season, here’s a cute sparkly one from Joe Fresh! | Wooden Magic Wand – bought in store but Melissa & Doug actually makes a good one that your kiddo can design themselves. (Btw, did you know giving your child a magic wand is a way of letting them feel in control, making them feel secure and confident!)

Thanks so much for following along my ‘Best-Kept Secret Spots in SF’ series! This city has so much to offer that it was quite a challenge when ShopStyle asked me to share just three! (Here’s the first and second one in case you missed it.) From new places to old, I hope I gave you a little taste of both. I’m constantly sharing my city faves on the blog too, so don’t forget to pop back in for my future discoveries!
