Meeting Glenda Bailey last Thursday at Coach was quite a treat! She’s known as the British transplant editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar since 2001 and was in town for a book signing of her new book, Harper’s Bazaar Greatest Hits. I’ve been a huge fan of Harper’s Bazaar as early as my late teens and til this day in my 30s, they are still one of my top ”go-to” fashion magazines for inspirations. Did you get a closer look of that cover on top? It’s Beyonce, sexy & pregnant! I love it!
Look how radiant everyone looks here, so pretty!! Left-right: Erin of Apartment 34, Adelle of Fashionista Lab & co-founder of San Francisco Fashion Film Festival, Jen Bennett of JenDarling bags, Kimber – friend/entrepreneur, Kim of J’adore Couture & co-founder of San Francisco Fashion Film Festival.
Finally, meeting Glenda!
Let me tell ya, this woman’s got charm! She was complimenting on how chic I look and how beautiful my complexion & smile are. All of it was so sincere and as you can tell, this lady literally melted my heart!! (Thanks Kim for capturing these wonderful moments for me!)
Bag stalking! I want them ALL!
How do you like to make your statement?
My favorite moment of the night – when two fashion icons meet! Glena Bailey and Joy V. Bianchi, international style icon and philanthropist who owns Helpers Boutique, a 100% charity-driven boutique that houses private collection of vintage couture. By the way, didn’t you think she was the cutest covergirl ever for Matchbook Magazine! I pretty much died over that cover!
Friends getting their books signed and Glenda making everyone happy!
Meeting another SF icon, former Mayor Willie Brown. He was quite happy when I told him he’s a sharp looking man in person, and that’s how I got my picture taken with him :)
Ending the night with another pretty pic: Erin, Kim, Melissa of Savvy in San Francisco, and Adelle.
I’ve been to many book signings before, but I’ve never been to one where the author personalized a message for each book, especially from a person who is as huge as Glenda. You’ll be lucky if you even get your name in the book! This shows how nice and humble this lady really is, and it’s truly the kind of character I look up to and admire. I kinda want to frame this page!
