A few weeks ago I went on a lunch date with my husband to The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen. Have you been? Every time I passed by it I saw a line out the door, so I finally had the chance to try it and gobbled down on some yummy grilled cheese!
I ordered the Mushroom Gruyere and a Smoky Tomato Soup, and my husband ordered the Applewood Smoked-Bacon w/ Sharp Cheddar and Havarti. The cheese was indeed very creamy, gooey, and tasty and the bread was perfectly grilled.
Between the two, I definitely liked my husband’s more. Maybe mine had just a bit too much mushrooms in it and it overpowered the cheese. I preferred the thin slices of applewood bacon with the mix of two cheeses. I just love how the cheese stretches from your mouth as you take a bite! It tasted ‘oh-so-delicious’ too when you dip the sandwich into the tangy tomato soup.
The portion may not look big, but when I finished the entire sandwich I was more than satisfied! Let just say I skipped dinner that night. Next time around I know to order the Red, White and Blue Plate (the small sandwich + soup or salad.)
Have you tried the grilled cheese from here yet? What did you think of it?
