“Pretty in Pink” Ombre Mini Cakes

Pink ombre mini cake

Wow, I cannot believe it’s already been a year since I written this last post. Where did the year go, really?

For the past months or so, I kept forgetting my birthday is coming up. Hayden’s birthday is one week before mine and we had a great time last week celebrating our little girl turning two. So when your kid’s birthday is so close to yours, you tend to forget your own.

In any case, I’m also really low-key when it comes to my birthday. I don’t expect presents or a big gathering. Instead, I love a good dinner with my husband and enjoy spending time with my family. He’s going to take me here for dinner. I’m really excited, and it’s really a shame I have not been considering I’m a local. I’m also a firm believer that you have to have cake on your birthday. So for me, I  got these pretty pink ombre mini cakes on my mind – a 34 year old should be able to handle this recipe, right?!

On another note, I want to thank all of you for your kind words on my blog’s redesign. I was honestly nervous to launch it because I felt like it could be one of those “love it” or “hate it” design. So, thank you all so so much for the support! Really means so much to me.

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer… and if you’re still looking for a getaway, here are some great inspirations! Happy weekend, friends!

  • Happy early birthday :)

  • Oh my, those mini ombre cakes are amazing. My husband’s birthday is seven days before my daughter’s birthday, so his special day tends to get a little overlooked, as well. It’s all about the kids now, right? I’m like you, I love nothing more than spending time with family/close friends on my birthday; Nothing over the top. If I still lived in SF, Bar Tartine looks like a place that would top my list.
