Gialina Pizzeria

Gialina Pizzeria

I’m lucky to be living near several cute neighborhoods in the city. Within minutes, I can grab some coffee in the Noe Valley, get some brunch in the Inner Sunset, or have a nice little dinner in the Glen Park.

And yup, that’s what we ended up doing this past Saturday for dinner. We went to Gialina in Glen Park for some thin crusty yummy pies!

Normally, I like to order my Margherita because I like my pizza nice and simple. But that night, I just felt like having something with more substance so I ordered the Amatriciana. And whoa! it was like so tasty – the tomato, the chilies, the Percorino, the pancetta … and also, when you add a perfectly cooked farm egg to anything it’s just instantly delicious! Don’t you agree?!

Roast Chicken with Panchetta

G ordered the Pan Roasted Chicken with Soft Polenta, and I just couldn’t keep my fork off of his plate. The chicken was pretty good (though it can be more moist in my opinion), but what really got me was their polenta… it was so creamy and so buttery that I kept digging into it and savored every bite! I certainly had an appetite that night :)

I love, love, love pizzas and I’m so glad we have this little neighborhood gem we can count on to satisfy my cravings.

If Gialina brings you to the area, be sure to check out the other local spots in the neighborhood as well. Like this one here, showcasing an array of eclectic mid-century modern finds (think Don Draper and Joan Harris). Or, you can go directly across the street to there for some delectable gifts for a friend, a baby, or for yourself. It’s one of my favorite “go-to” spots for gifts and pretty things and I’m sure you will walk out with a thing or two ;)

Mmm… my mouth is watering just thinking about the pizza again.
