Ok, here’s the thing, I haven’t quite acquired the taste for whiskey yet. My husband loves it, so I’m trying to be the good companion and learn to love it as well. We love wine tasting, so maybe one day we’ll do whiskey tasting too, who knows. It’s all about trying and experimenting new things as a couple, right?
While I think it’s still going to take me a while before I make the Old Fashioned my cocktail of choice, this chocolate whiskey cake I found via Jet and Indigo is surprisingly calling my name. I can almost taste the bittersweet of the chocolate, smokiness of the whiskey, and the buttery flavor of the salted caramel buttercream all blended into my mouth. I guess if anyone who is trying to acquire the taste of whiskey, this cake is not a bad place to start.
And come to think of it, this may just make the most delectable grown-up dessert for Valentine’s Day.
