Many of you may have known, I was on the Can Can Cleanse last week. I haven’t done one since the Master Cleanse three years ago, and well, that one was a complete failure. It was so intense that the thought of doing another cleanse again would be nearly impossible.
Up until when I was over at Erin’s house, who was on the Can Can Cleanse herself, and I noticed those pretty mason jars stocked up in her fridge. All the drinks looked so refreshing and delish that I was like, hey, I would totally drink that even if I wasn’t on a cleanse!
So, I read up about Can Can on their website and decided to give this cleanse thing another try. After all, my body was calling for a detox after a very sinful & delicious Valentine’s day dinner I had with the hub. :)
I picked up my cleanse at their Mission location and met the very sweet owner, Teresa. She is the lady standing on the right with her lovely employee, Bailey, in the picture above. Oh, did I tell you there’s a little baby boy in the picture too? Teresa is expecting her first newborn in a few months and I am so excited for her. I can already imagine how healthy that little boy is going to be!
I was pretty impressed with how organized the cleanse was prepared. They separated the meals into three days for you and each jar had a number tag, so you know exactly when to drink what. Each tag tells you what the ingredients were, and I love that it came with a little time chart to let you know when to drink your beverage.
My favorite was the soup during noon. It was this tasty butternut squash carrot soup and was actually quite filling. The green juice was amazingly refreshing! And it was packed with 12 oz of cucumber, celery, parsley, mint, kale, cabbage, broccoli, fennel, spinach, romaine, lemon, ginger and apple. Seriously, I think this should be included in my daily diet!
By the end of the cleanse, my body felt really good and energized. I was able to get up at 5:30am and was ready to go. My husband said it could be psychological, but I really thought it was the detox that did it.
I have to say, this was a very doable cleanse. I did experience a headache throughout, but I think that’s normal with any cleanse as your body is fighting a craving. The best part of it was the sense of accomplishment I had, which I did not get from my previous cleanse. I was just so proud of myself that I was certain this would be the cleanse I can stick to season after season.
And what’s so wonderful about Can Can is that all of their ingredients are organic and seasonal, so you can expect something different each season you do the cleanse. I did the “3-Day” cleanse, which was recommended for beginning cleansers. But they also offer a “1-Day Cleanse” if you just want to give your body a rest, or the “Green Cleanse” for more experienced cleansers.
Now that I’m done with the cleanse, I gotta figure out what kind of fun things I can do with my 24 mason jars! Any ideas for me?
And some good news! Since I know many of you have expressed interest in trying the cleanse, Teresa is happy to extend $10 off on your first “3-Day” cleanse to Shop Sweet Things readers. All you have to do is:
